Miles Davis, 1989

Brian Duffy was a leading fashion photographer at British Vogue (1957–62) and worked for major magazines including French Elle, Glamour, Esquire, and Harper’s Bazaar, capturing cultural icons of the 1960s. He shot three Pirelli calendars and created iconic David Bowie album covers, including Aladdin Sane. Named one of the “Black Trinity” alongside David Bailey and Terence Donovan, he helped define Swinging London’s visual style. His archive, established in 2008 after many negatives were lost, is rare and highly sought after. The British Journal of Photography named him one of the 100 most influential photographers of all time.

Chris Duffy, son of renowned photographer Brian Duffy, has established a distinguished career in photography, film production, and archival management. Beginning as a trainee at Colour Photo Labs in 1972, he advanced to becoming his father’s printer assistant and studio manager, also assisting David Bailey and Terence Donovan. By 1979, Chris had opened his own studio, collaborating with artists including David Bowie, Adam Ant, Steve Strange, Sade, and Spandau Ballet, with his fashion photography appearing in publications like Vogue, French Elle, and Cosmopolitan. In 1986, he co-founded 3DZ, a film production company focusing on television commercials and music videos. After a period in Los Angeles, Chris returned to London in 1997, contributing to GQ magazine and founding SIX, a multimedia production company.
